Top Pick by RT Book Reviews for Romantic Suspense
When CIA assassin Hannah Winslow mistakenly kills the wrong man, she vows never to take another life. Unfortunately Hannah’s superiors believe the killing was intentional. Now Hannah is the target. Hannah always knew it might come to this. Surprising her colleagues, she manages to disappear completely into a new, screamingly dull life, assuming a fake identity, shacking up with an overweight cat, and starting a new career as an ad executive.
Hannah’s past finally catches up with her at a company retreat in Hawaii, where her former partner Benjamin Miller has tracked her down. Is it a coincidence that assassination attempts on her life are now as common as rum, suntan lotion, and tiny umbrella drinks? What is the real reason for Ben’s presence? Will he be her savior or her assassin?
Praise for The Assassin’s Heart…
4 1/2 stars RT Rating Top Pick GOLD
Kazimer’s debut romantic suspense deserves a spot at the top of the genre. Not only is this novel sassy and fun, but the author’s research into the CIA and the life of an assassin is reflected in her work, making it not just a fabulous romantic supsense tale, but a fantastic work of fiction, period. Hannah “Six” Winslow stands strongly on her own and has none of the characteristics of a damsel in distress — which makes this novel that much hotter and sensual.

I started reading this and didn’t put it down till I was done. THE ASSASSIN’S HEART has mystery, intrigue, excitement and romance. It’s a fast paced story that is great for an afternoon with time to read.
Hannah is a government assassin who along with her partner Ben is out working a job. After Hannah kills the target she realizes she has killed the wrong person. When they are called in for the debriefing Hannah is notified in advance that she is in danger and runs. Hannah disappears and makes a new life for herself, gets a cat tries to be normal, until Ben finds her. He finds her on a work retreat in Hawaii and throws her new life into chaos. There is no way for her to know if Ben is there to help her or kill her.
There are multiple attempts on Hannah’s life and she can’t seem to stay out of harm way. It soon becomes clear Ben wants her and she wants him. The problem is does he also want to kill her and if he has betrayed her before will he do it again.
The struggle J.A. Kazimer creates between Hannah, Ben and the people in charge of the government organization they work for leaves you guessing till the very end just who the bad guys are.

The Assassins’ First Date (Prequel Novella to The Assassin’s Kiss, Book 1)
Indiebound | Amazon | B & N | Powell’s
Benjamin Miller and Hannah “Six” Winslow have a date, but no one’s going to “get lucky,” at least not in the common sense of the phrase. The partners kill bad guys for the secret government organization known as OPS. And although they are dining at an elegant restaurant, their goal, and that of fellow assassin Nate Taylor, is to assassinate a dangerous arms dealer.
“The target” dies early in the evening, though not by the hand of any of the three assassins. His death by poison means yet another assassin got to him first, one who did not leave any obvious clues. In fact nothing is as it seems. Have they been betrayed by OPS? Is the mysterious assassin lingering in their midst, waiting to pick them off?
Ben, Six, and Nate have just a few hours to solve the mystery, using only their wits and whatever evidence they can gather by cell from Nate’s analyst H. But Ben and Six are unusually distracted by each others’ sexy-date personas. With no one but Nate in top form, the slippery outside assassin may put them all on ice.
The story in the novella The Assassins’ First Date predates the novels, The Assassin’s Heart and The Assassin’s Kiss. Each can be enjoyed separately, but you can follow the tale sequentially by reading this story first and ending with The Assassin’s Kiss, which features Nate and his estranged wife Julia.
